TRUE WEST PRESERVATION SOCIETY RECEIVES ITS 501(c)(3)
NON-PROFIT DESIGNATION
The True West Preservation Society has received its 501(c)(3) non-profit designation from the Internal Revenue Service. Formed in 2008, the mission of the True West Preservation Society is to identify significant icons, objects and locations of the great American Old West in need of restoration and preservation, and to establish a fund-raising effort to permanently restore and preserve each subject.
The True West Preservation Society is actively seeking historic preservation projects with a green light. The organization has developed a program in which it will solicit projects from individuals, organizations and municipalities that have been budgeted and have final approval from government agencies and concerned parties.
The True West Preservation will support projects such as building restoration and monument revitalization. Proposed projects will focus on exploring and preserving a significant aspect of community or state history. Projects might also focus on the history and/or efforts to help preserve a neighborhood, building, cemetery, historic site, historic collections, or an historic event or tradition that is important to a local community.
The True West Preservation Society is a dedicated group of members and volunteers whose mission is to preserve and protect America’s Old West Heritage. This non-profit, tax-exempt organization strives to identify and revitalize historic monuments and icons of this significant cultural era. The organization is supported by True West magazine (est. 1953) and driven by a volunteer Board of Regents that possesses substantial knowledge of Old West history.
Based in Cave Creek, Arizona, the True West Preservation Society’s goal is to inspire a movement of individuals who can save projects that would otherwise be lost forever.
The True West Preservation Society is now a non-profit corporation recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, gifts to which may be deductible as charitable contributions for federal and state income tax purposes, as permitted by state law.
